Grounds, gardens and trails are open year round. May 14 rain date. Host: Fran Scannell/ no rsvp. Monday May 18 2026 9am - noon. Vaughan Woods, Hallowell. Park at the Litchfield Road Parking next to the Vaughan Homestead in Hallowell. Beautiful woodland trails with stone bridges and two magnificent waterfalls. No bathrooms in the woods, but available within a short drive. Carry out what you carry in, including painting water....

2025 PLEIN AIR PAINTERS OF MAINE --PAPME The following are free opportunities for artists who paint outdoors. We do not advertise galleries unless they are hosting free plein air events. We do not advertise paintings for sale. Our goal is solely as a service to the artists who wish to paint outside and experience Maine's magnificent scenery May through October.
